The Computer Science and Engineering Department is organizing a Programming Contest Mini League. Students are required to form their own teams of three members each, and will take part in three different contests to be held on:
- Friday 9th July 2010 - (First round over)
- Wednesday 4th August 2010 - (Second round over)
- Wednesday 25th August 2010 (12:00 - 13:00) in MCID Lab, Phase II Building.
First Round and Second Results of Mini League

The first round of the Programming Mini League Contest was a success. 15 Teams (45 students) took part in the event and the response was very positive. The students had fun and are getting ready for the Second Round on 4th August 2010.

Objectives and Registration
The Programming Contest Mini League provides students with opportunities to interact among other students and to sharpen and demonstrate their problem-solving, programming, and teamwork skills. The problems needs to be implemented in any of the following Programming languages: C, C++ and Java
The best team will win a shield and may eventually participate in the regional phase (Southern African Region) of the ACM Intercollegiate Programming Contest in Cape Town, South Africa, later this year. The contest provides a platform for ACM, industry, and academia to encourage and focus public attention on the next generation of computing professionals as they pursue excellence.

The University of Mauritius has been represented at the regional phase of this prestigious worldwide programming contest for four consecutive years and each time our team came out of the competition with a Honourable Mention. This is a great opportunity for our students to improve their programming skills and team spirit and to measure their performance at international level.
Interested students may join the weekly training sessions organized by the subcommittee.
